The Foersterei is a modern flat with 6 beds and two sunny balconies with a beautiful view of the mountains. Let your soul dangle at almost 1800m above sea level in the middle of the Nockberge mountains. In optimal snow conditions, you can strap on your skis directly in front of the house and ski to the nearby ski lift. Or take a short walk to the lake in summer.
Enjoy the successful interplay of modern comfort and traditional Austrian mountain idyll in our flat. The flat is equipped with everything a holidaymaker's heart desires. The cosy furnishings immediately invite the whole family to relax, so that your holiday can begin from the very first minute.
We have placed a lot of emphasis on natural materials for the furnishings. Thus, the entire flat is equipped with real wood flooring and underfloor heating, which creates a pleasant atmosphere both in summer and winter.
Two bedrooms are each equipped with a spacious double bed and sufficient storage space for clothes. One of them also has an en-suite bathroom with its own toilet, shower and washbasin. Both bedrooms have a modern flat-screen TV.
The second bathroom is also equipped with a shower, WC and washbasin and can be reached centrally via the hallway
The third bedroom is again ideal for the offspring with an over-corner bunk bed. Here, too, there is sufficient storage space for clothes.
The kitchen offers everything for complete self-catering. It is equipped with oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. In the cupboards you will find all the pots, pans, plates, glasses, mugs and tools you need for your home-cooked meals or snacks.
If you would like to sit together with your family or friends, you can either do so at the spacious dining table or relax in the living area with a dreamlike view over the Nockberge mountains.
The two balconies invite you to sunbathe and offer a fantastic view of the Eisenhut.
Two covered parking spaces are available for your car. Outside, there is also a lockable ski room right next to the entrance door.
In order to guarantee our guests a healthy and pleasant stay, we make sure that there is no smoking in the rooms and that no pets are brought along.
Kids don't fancy a bike ride? Then let's go to the new trail area on the Turracher Höhe! Because on the high plateau between Carinthia and Styria, a true biking dream has become reality: A comprehensive and varied MTB offer awaits runners and (flow) riders, beginners and e-bikers.
The Kornock Flow Trail is the highlight of the area and starts at the top of the mountain station. Just under 6 kilometres long, the trail offers an entertaining ride over waves, a small curve carousel as well as footbridges and bridges. The natural trail is unique in Carinthia and Styria due to its length and construction!
No question: the Nocky Flitzer is the fastest way down. Children, but also the "young at heart" will get their money's worth on our alpine roller coaster: sharp curves through the pine forest, roundabouts, wave tracks and jumps - the 1.6-kilometre-long track is breathtakingly beautiful and spectacular at the same time.
From the Panoramabahn mountain station at 2,000 m above sea level, the track descends - with a view of Lake Turrach and partly with a panoramic view as far as the Karawanken - to the Turracher Höhe at 1,763 m above sea level. A rapid descent that, despite its length, is usually over far too quickly for the kids. Rated "Again!"
By the way: A toboggan ride with the Nocky Flitzer is possible in summer as well as in winter. Thanks to the latest and, above all, safe technology, you can whizz down the valley with your kids on the sleek toboggans all year round.
When it comes to "alpine hiking", this could actually be an invention of the people here in the Nockberge. Because the gentle mountain giants are just inviting for a hike: Family-friendly high-altitude trails along gentle mountain ridges, in between mighty peaks up to 2,441 m above sea level, idyllic mountain lakes and breathtaking panoramas all around. The Turracher Höhe in particular is a true paradise for nature lovers.
Like hardly any other region, the Nockberge Biosphere Park offers the opportunity to climb majestic mountain peaks without any alpine equipment: on leisurely alpine walks or on challenging mountain tours with several summits in one day. Because that is also possible in the Nockberge Biosphere Park!
A tip for families are the hikes around the
The Turracher Höhe is a real natural jewel. Magnificent alpine pastures, in between Europe's largest contiguous Swiss stone pine forests, seductively glittering mountain lakes in the midst of gentle mountain peaks that rise far above 2,000 metres: the alpine pasture-lake plateau on the Carinthian border with Styria is an imposing world of natural experiences. For hikers and mountaineers as well as for recreation seekers and families.
The Turracher Höhe lies in a wonderfully quiet location at 1,763 metres on the border of the Austrian states of Carinthia and Styria. The holiday home is located at 1,750 m surrounded by larch and stone pine forests and the Nockberge National Park.
Situated near the ski slopes and hiking trails, this is the ideal starting point to experience wonderful days in winter as well as in summer.
The infrastructure of the village includes a bank, some sports and souvenir shops and a small shop that sometimes offers regional specialities. in 1985, an ecumenical church was built at the suggestion of the local residents.
The gastronomy of Turrach is known far beyond Carinthia's borders and offers a sumptuous selection for every taste.
